“House” means to “Castle” for many people whose imagination, for the different style and shape of the house, can be different according to his age or taste. Therefore each one has his own dream house until he made that dream come true.

 Same as Dr. Supamit Chaoaree M.D., the pediatrician at Bangkok Hospital Rayong, who pursued his dream house. This “modern garden house” is truly matched with his dream, since when he was a teenage hi-school student, while the interior decoration is respond to his requirements.  

After the warm greeting welcome from Dr. Supamit, we, “Baan Sukjai”, understand the inspiration behind this house building. Dr. Supamit said that since he was young, he dreamed to own a beautiful house. He started to buy and read the house related magazines to gather ideas and information, to find his own style dream house.

He was born in Chanthaburi and his original house was the two and a half storey commercial building. There was no area around the house and when he was teenager, he already got used to the walking up and down the stairs. Therefore he dreamed to have a single-storey house surrounding with natural green area for the delighted mood all the time.

“I think to the time when I become elder. If I live in the same style as my previous house, I’ll have to walk up and down a lot which is inconvenience. Thought I have bought a house in Rayong because of its short distance to my work place, it is the one and a half story house. When I lived there and went up stairs, I didn’t want to come down so it’s come to the point that we better have a single-story house to live when we become eldery.

“The team brought me to visit their single-storey house sites that matched with my interest until I decided to choose this house design. I was also participated and observed the project while the construction was carried on. Including my parents, who are the retired officers from the Waterworks Authority, that helped observe the project. From the observation we known that at every stage of construction, PD House use each specialists for each work for example one team of electrician to do all the electric work, one team for the foundation work, and other separate team for roof and doors/windows. Moreover, PD House gave priority to the energy conservation therefore the standard material of PD House come with the solar water heater machine. I plan to bring his house to join the Energy Conservation Building Contest Project by Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency, Ministry of Energy in the future.

Regarding the decoration style, Dr. Supamit mentioned that everything no matter the furniture, bathroom and the kitchen is to his style. Moreover , regarding the flooring material, PD House provided the high quality laminated floor with imitated beautiful natural wood pattern from “Quick Step”. We also chose the natural pattern for the ceramic floor tiles.

“The interior function was adjusted from the standard plan. There are 4 bed rooms and the middle space is the main hall where everyone can enjoy or watch the TV. together. This area is the center for everyone in the family where we can enjoy the front view which is the pond. We have around 200 fancy carp fishes in that pond. In addition, we have space for our own home-grown vegetable and it is our family’s main activity.

All of the above is the origin of the modern garden house on the two rai area from the view of Dr. Supamit, who combined his dream and imagination with the professional service from PD House. For it to be the house for family where love and warmness of Chaoaree family are nested.

Assc.Prof.Potchawit had PD HOUSE build the dreamed house for Apiniwet family with five family members. They are Associate Professor Chalida,Apiwet-the eldest son,Atitaya-the second daughter and Peerawit-the youngest son.

The house model is ME-731. It was built on a 220 sq.w. plot of land with 540 sq.m. living area.The design inside emphasized on airy space without narrow corner to help make good ventilation.Assc.Prof.Potchawit began to talk about the house that he chose PD HOUSE,the professional home builder,to build his house..The construction started in October 2009 and he moved in at the beginning of 2011.

Assc.Prof.Potchawit continued telling us that he bought the land from Racha City Project. He then visited many development projects at suburb area but none attracted him. He searched for the information of building a house for 2 months.He said he had the design in his mind and when he looked at the house designs of PD HOUSE,he searched for the design that close to what he had in mind.

Besides the design of the house,the most important thing for Assc.Prof Potchawit is the living area of 350-400 sq.m. or more because he has 3 children so he needs more room for them.

Assc.Prof. Potchawit said that he knew PD HOUSE from the advertisement in a newspaper.He then searched the website of the company for more information and found out that the company was a professional one and reliable.He decided to have PD build his house and the contract was signed in August 2009.

Someone recommended a local contractor to him. The construction cost was lower but Assc.Prof.Potchawit was afraid that there would be some problems followed with the contractor so he decided to choose PD, a trusty home builder company.

Because he had the design in his mind,when talking with PD HOUSE he could easily get the design he needed. He deleted the narrow corners to make the house more airy and warm atmosphere. Assc.Prof. Potchawit told us the impression with PD HOUSE that he made a right decision to have PD build his house. The company was a professional and made a clear construction timetable. “I said I made a right decision because I had a profession home builder build my house. Many people thought that it was expensive to have a builder company build a house. But if consider thoroughly,having a local contractor build a house might cost lower but  cost was not fixed and at the end it would be more expensive than the builder company.The company also used high technology for construction,for example,PD HOUSE used prefabrication structure which are high standard and time saving.

Assc.Prof.Potchawit concluded that the ways PD HOUSE use are different from local contractore.for the contractor,we can see the progress of the work everyday but for PD HOUSE we have to wait for a month before the construction began because the work at first stage was done in a factory and at last was completed in time.

The definition of ‘Home’ for many people is maybe different. When one has an opportunity to build a home, it is certain that he wants a home that is perfect and meets his definition. But to find a professional home builder company is not easy.

Pisit Boonsawat planed to build a dreamed home and wanted to feel happy when returned home. He wanted to decorate the home by his own style. The main factor which turned his dream become realistic was a professional home builder company.

Pisit disclosed to ‘Baan Sukjai’ staff that he liked contemporary modern style home. He said that if he had an opportunity to build a home, this style was the first priority in his mind. When he bought a plot of land in Nangrong district, Burirum, he started thinking about building a new home. He searched a home design in the internet. “Usually went I went home I stayed at my mother’s house ( Khun Saratchan Boonsawat). It was a house I built for my mother. “From the negative information of home builder companies,I didn’t trust an amateur builder or a contractor. I chose PD HOUSE because the company was reliable. They also had an office in Korat which was near my house. Furthermore, there was no home builder company around here so I thought PD HOUSE was my best choice.

From that time till now, Khun Pisit’s house is the most beautiful house in Burirum. On the day he held a new home ceremony, he invited 400-500 guests to the house. All the guests agreed that his house was beautiful and was prominent in the village.

When asked where was his favorite corner, Khun Pisit said that every corner was impressive. His proud eyes when talking about the house guaranteed the truth. The prominent of the house counted from design, decoration and multi-levels was charming and made him happy whenever he returned home.
Khun Pisit is an MLM businessman. His former career was car leasing business. To own a house means a success and push him go ahead.

Khun Watit welcomed “Droom” staff at his beautiful house. He told the background of his first house that was different from others.Many people build the first houses for the beginning of their family lives but Khun Watit had his own reason. This house originated from the changing of the environment of his 0ld house. Once his mother lived in the area around Petchaburi road with their relatives. When the new high buildings arose and the traffic became bad and high pollution of the surrounding, his mother and her relatives decided to sell the houses and find a better places to live. His mother bought a plot of land in Soi Aree where it is convenient to commute to any places.

When asked why didn’t she buy a house in a development project, Khun Watit said that his mother didn’t like a house that is the same shape as others which was usually built in a development project. Besides, the project situated in the suburb area and the owner couldn’t choose the materials so when we had got the land we were looking for the builder.

When we decide to build a new house, we have to consider thoroughly about the builder. Now besides teaching at the faculty of Medicine,I am a pediatrician and has to work hard everyday.After work,I like to spend my time with my family.I think that this house will be the place for our family.Though my children are grown up,we will live together because there is plenty of space for the kids to run and play.”

The doctor left the message for those who are going to build a house that first of all the family members must be asked for their consent.Then other details such as convenience for going back and forth to work and the builder company will be considered.

 Her company attracted many customers and rapidly growth.She herself also took a job as a moderator at organized events which brought her much money so she planned to move her office to a new location.

 When asked if she has dreamed to be this success in the profession she said that when she was a child she has never dreamed that she could own a company and a big house. She just wanted to be a teacher and had a warm and happy family. But when she worked hard and earned more,her thought grew bigger.

 She also added that she was success with a satisfactory level but still wanted to grow bigger with her business and returned the benefit to the society.

 She now has a son so she has to spare her time for her family.She is the owner of the business so she can choose her own working time.

 At first she planned to buy a house in a development project but after a long time going around for the house,none satisfied her. Besides,she has bought the land so she decided to build the house here.

Baan Sukjai magazine staff had an opportunity to visit the house of Dr. Wanchai, a general surgeon, and KhunChutima,a nurse, his wife. Both are the owner of “Wanchai Clinic” at Tamuang district, Kanchanaburi. The house is beautiful and attractive in English Country style and stands prominently on the road led to Tamuang district.

KhunChutima told Baan Sukjai staff that Dr.Wanchai was born and in Supanburi and she herself was born in  Kanchanaburi. They both used to work  together in Pahonponpayuhasena hospital in Kanchanaburi and resigned to open their own clinic—Wanchai Clinic.The clinic has been opened for 23 years now and open daily from 8.00-12.00 hrs. and 17.00-21.00 hrs. on Monday to Saturday and 8.00-12.00 on Sunday.

“Nowadays the doctor and I work in the clinic. Sometime in the past the doctor used to work in a private hospital but he was too tired wit and h that so he quit.The work at the clinic is good and most of the people in Tamuang district know the clinic.” KhunChutima said.

Though they had to work hard, they take a time to relax in the afternoon and Sunday  late afternoon at their house which is just 1.5 km.from the clinic. Their house is the warm place to rest and they carefully  chose the house style and decoration items.

KhunChutima told us that the house is an English Country style, 2 storey with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms and 400 sq.m. living area. It is on 2 rais plot of land bought from the patient of the clinic. The land is on a good location close to the road and near the clinic.

“When we come back from work we usually sit at the dining table eating,watching TV and chatting so the dining area is our favorite corner. We chose to build a country style house because we both love the shady nature of country style with corridor round the house. We don’t like a modern luxury house.”
Dr. Wanchai said that before building the house,he searched the internet for house styles from other countries, and saw some from the movies so this style of house fixed in his mind for a long time. Then he brought the style to discuss with home builder companies and stopped at PD House because he was well informed. When the planned was modified to meet his needs, the house was built with 5 million Baht budget and it took a year and a half to complete.

“After living in this house for 6 years,we were never disappointed. We are happy with the house. Everything is still in good condition. Themost important thing is it is never hot within the house because of a corridor around the  house, a light weight brick wall, a synthetic wood outside and the insulator on the ceiling. The paint is still in good condition though somewhere on the window frames are a little fade because of the hot sunlight but we haven’t a repainting yet.”

The couple defined the word ‘Home’ to fulfill the life that the home should be the place where we live happily both mind and body. It should be the place we don’t want to stay away. When we finish our work we want to come directly home to take a rest.
