Electricity System Inside The House

Though the cost of the electricity system is not as high as the structure of the house, the system is also important because if there are some mistakes happen later it will cause a lot of damages and cost a lot of money to recover. We have to use high quality and longevity electrical appliances and the most important is the appliances used must be in the safety standard as specified by Metropolitan Electricity Authority and Provincial Electricity Authority.

Electricity System Standard Checking

In case the main cable runs from eaves to electricity meter (Electricity post), single copper cable with PVC cover (THW# 35 Sq.mm.) should be used. The sample manufacturer is THAI YASAKI.
If the cable runs from the house are put in conduit and put underground, single copper cable cover with PVC (NYY#35 Sq.mm.) should be used. The PE conduit dia.1 ½ inches is used.
The main electricity cable from the house to the meter should leave 50 extra length so the official from the authority can connect the cable.
The Ground Rod with 1.6 cm. dia. Must be checked if it is completely installed.
Wire nut should be used to connect the cable on the ceiling and the joint should be put in the junction box.(The cable should not be connected in the conduit).

Direction

In case the cable inside the house is put in the conduit and put in the wall or on the ceiling, PVC conduit used should be for the electricity only.(yellow conduit)
In case the cable for TV and Telephone are put in the conduit, they should not put in the same conduit for the electricity cable because the signal will be interfered. The conduits should be at least 3.5 cm. apart.
Block or box to hold switches or plugs put in the concrete wall should be put first in the wall and steel block or box is more longevity that PVC or wooden box.
The height of the lighting switch from the floor is 1.20m. and the height of the plug is 40 cm..This is the most convenient location for general use.
