Are Autoclaved Concretes Good for Bathroom walls?

Some people believe that the bubbles in autoclaved blocks can cause fungus so the blocks are not good for bathroom walls, Furthermore, it is believed that the Autoclaved Concretes walls are not strong enough to hang any bathroom accessories. Actually, all types of bricks can absorb moisture if the proper materials and construction steps are misused.

Autoclaved Concretes, as well as other types of blocks, can be used for bathroom walls without causing fungus and they are strong enough to support any bathroom accessories. Here are simple steps for laying Autoclaved Concretes

1. Notched trowel and cement mortar for ACC are required so the bond between the blocks and the cement mortar will be strong enough.

2. Cement mortar for ACC only should be applied. Saturated the blocks before applying the cement mortar and the mortar thickness should not exceed 1.5 centimeter.

3. Before tiling, put the tiles into water so the tiles will not absorb the moisture from cement mortar. After tiling, check if there is a gap between the tiles and cement mortar. If there is any, it will hold the water inside the gap. High quality grouting cement should be applied after tiling to prevent fungus or water absorbing.
