Ceilings undoubtedly create an effect on the interior of a home, besides concealing the underside of the upper floor—wiring, plumbing and ducts. Some types of ceiling are simple, flat and barely get noticed, but there are some that are distinctively attractive and decorative and grab our attention. They can also prevent heat from under the roof to come inside the building.

1. Conventional ceiling. This type of ceiling is a flat, seamless surface. It is the ceiling type commonly used in homes. The materials used are gypsum or fiber cement board held with a C-line frame which attached to the roof structure.
2. Suspended or false ceiling. This is one of the most popular types of ceiling used because the price is rather cheap compared to other types of ceiling. It is also easy to do maintenance work for pipes or wiring. The ceiling material is hung on a T-bar grid below the existing ceiling.
3. Cove or step ceiling. The concept of cove or step ceiling is one that elevates towards a center in a gradual manner. It gives a prominent and luxurious look. Sometimes a mold is also used for a beauty’s sake.
4. Concealed light ceiling. A bulk is hidden on this type of ceiling and the light is reflected on the floor. The main purpose is for decoration not lighting
5. Soffit. This type of ceiling is an external ceiling used to cover under the eave. It can use to protect insects from coming into the building and ventilate the weather from under the roof.
